Stunning renovated condo with sweeping corner views, modern kitchen, and 5-star luxury bathrooms! Relax and spread out in this 2400+ sqft condo, with 600 sqft of private balcony directly on the Bay. Lazy Heron Hideaway (Heron 401) is a corner unit offering beautiful views from the spacious balcony and light-filled windows. Enjoy the lazy river just downstairs, stroll over the walkway to the beach, and then relax and enjoy the sunset from your private balcony overlooking the Choctawatchee Bay.
Beach Service (1 umbrella, 2 chairs set up for you daily) Is complimentary with your stay!

The space

Each of the three bedrooms is furnished with a king bed, with one of the bedrooms additionally having built-in bunk beds. Two rollaway beds are also provided for added flexibility. In addition to the main living area, a second living area offers a queen sleeper sofa.

All bathrooms were completely remodeled in 2023 and feature quartz countertops and designer tile. The master bathroom has a luxurious heated and jetted bathtub, as well as a walk-in rain shower with body jets!

Neighborhood overview

Destin West Bayside offers a large 700-foot lazy river, a waterfall pool heated seasonally, a zero entry pool great for little ones, a large family hot tob, an adults-only hot tub, and a heated pool reserved soley for Heron guests. In addition, our guests have access to Destin West Gulfside amenties just across the pedestrian bridge--including beach access, another large pool, hot tub, and kiddie wading pool. When you need a break from the water, walk next door to Rick's or across the street to the Boardwalk for a bite to eat, coffee, or ice cream.

Getting around

Destin West is located on the eastern end of the developed part of Okaloosa Island. Destin Harborwalk Village is just ten minutes to the east, and downtown Fort Walton Beach is about five minutes to the west. In addition the the beach and the on-site pools, there are plenty of activities within walking distance, including restaurants, shops, boat rentals, go-karts and laser tag, the convention center, two playgrounds, and a rookery park with a boardwalk trail.

  Beautiful, expansive condo for a family of 8. Wonderful, large outdoor patio space overlooking the marina with seating areas for all. PLENTY of beds and bathroom space for all. Kitchen was very well stocked and we cooked most meals in. Easy walk to the beach with private chairs (2) and umbrella included. Wonderful walking/running/biking walk way. Restaurants within walking distance. Resort style pools, hot tubs, and lazy river the kids LOVED! Floors need a good scrub. Overall, a wonderful vacation spot for a large family!

  Instructions were clear and the place was spacious. We had a full house and it did not feel like everyone was on top of one another. The amenities were nice and the walk to the beach wasn’t too bad either. Loved how well stocked this place was too. Only thing is the floors need a good scrub.

  The best Condo we have ever stayed in at Destin West over the past 20+ years. Everything was of upgraded quality and it was so spacious. Having 2 adult Daughters that both have families we needed 3 big bedrooms and this one has 3 King Beds and 3 bathrooms. Everything was great.

  Had an excellent time. The Heron 401 condo fit our 3 families consisting of 6 adults and 4 kids perfectly. Had everything needed. Great location and views from the balcony overlooking the bay were excellent, especially on July 4th where we were able to see non stop fire works all around us. Couple of small issues were promptly addressed by the staff at Legacy Vacations. Highly recommend. 10 out of 10.

  We enjoyed our stay at Destin West! We had two families (nine people total) and the condo had plenty of room for all of us! We loved sitting outside on the patio. The condo had everything we needed! We brought our boat with us so it was nice to be able to rent a slip that we could see from the condo.
  While we enjoyed our stay and had a great time, I wished the mattresses and bed linens were more comfortable. The pools were wonderful (although lazy river was a little cold this time of year). And the location was great for boating and fishing! We will definitely consider this location again!
